Credulous Youth, Clever AI, and the Misinformation Crisis

AI is not just changing how India’s youth consume content. It is changing what they believe.

From deepfake videos to cloned voices, fake screenshots to AI-written propaganda — misinformation has never looked this real, this fast, or this convincing.

And the scariest part?
Our young generation often shares before it questions.

In a world driven by reels, virality, and instant reactions, truth is struggling to compete with content that is designed to trigger emotion, outrage, and blind belief.

This is bigger than fake news.
This is a digital literacy emergency.

If young minds are learning from algorithms, then critical thinking must become their strongest defense.

For example :

1. MHA warns against rising AI deepfake fraud targeting banks, fintechs www.newindianexpress.com/amp/story/india/2026/Jun/11/mha-warns-against-rising-ai-deepfake-fraud-targeting-banks-fintechs

2. Another current pattern is “digital arrest” scams and celebrity deepfake investment ads.

3. According to reuters study 44% of Indians are comfortable with AI-generated news

India does not just need AI adoption.
India needs AI awareness, media literacy, and a generation brave enough to ask: “Is this even true?”

Because in the age of artificial intelligence, the real power is not in creating content.
It is in questioning it.

The Manipur issue: A political propaganda in Meitei Vs. Kuki

The Meitei-Kuki issue is a complex and long-standing conflict between the two largest ethnic groups in Manipur, India. The conflict has its roots in the colonial era, when the British encouraged the Kukis to migrate to Manipur from Myanmar. The Meiteis, who are the majority ethnic group in Manipur, have long viewed the Kukis as outsiders and have accused them of encroaching on their land. In recent years, the conflict has been exacerbated by a number of factors, including the demand by the Kukis for Scheduled Tribe status, which would give them certain benefits, such as reservation in government jobs and education. The Meiteis oppose the demand for Scheduled Tribe status, arguing that it would unfairly benefit the Kukis and give them an unfair advantage in the state. The conflict has also been fueled by the rise of militant groups on both sides. The Kuki National Front (KNF) and the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) have been fighting for a separate Kuki homeland, while though...
